Wisdom Tooth Extraction
A common procedure, performed with precision and care
Wisdom teeth, also known as third molars, are the last teeth to erupt in the mouth, usually between the ages of 17 and 25. It is not uncommon for them to lack space or grow in the wrong direction. In some cases, extraction is necessary to preserve overall oral health.
At Dr. Mariona Palé's dental clinic, we perform wisdom tooth extractions with precision, in a safe and reassuring environment. The procedure is planned using advanced imaging technologies and can be performed under local or general anesthesia, depending on the patient's needs.

Why extract wisdom teeth?
Extraction is indicated in several situations:
- Teeth embedded in the bone or partially erupted;
- Abnormal positioning or risk of misalignment of other teeth;
- Pain, infection, or inflammation of surrounding tissues;
- Cyst formation or cavities on the adjacent tooth;
- Difficulty cleaning the area properly, leading to hygiene problems.
Even in the absence of symptoms, radiological monitoring is recommended to anticipate potential complications.
Precise planning thanks to 2D and 3D radiology
Each case is different. Before any extraction, we perform a complete clinical and radiological evaluation. Thanks to our digital radiology equipment, we can accurately visualize:
- The position of the teeth in the jaws;
- The orientation of the roots;
- The proximity of nerves and sinuses;
- The surrounding bone anatomy (using CBCT, or cone beam computed tomography).
This 3D planning allows us to tailor our surgical approach with precision, safety, and efficiency, while minimizing risks.
General anesthesia: an option for certain patients
For complex procedures, or if you feel significant anxiety about an extraction, we offer the option of performing the procedure under general anesthesia. This option may also be indicated for:
- Patients with special needs or disabilities
- Multiple extractions in a single appointment
- Uncontrollable gag reflexes
This procedure is performed in a strictly controlled environment, with the collaboration of a qualified anesthesia professional, and only after a prior medical evaluation.
