General Anesthesia
A solution tailored to specific needs
At Dr. Mariona Palé's dental clinic, our priority is to make dental care accessible, comfortable, and safe for everyone. While the vast majority of treatments are performed under local anesthesia, certain cases may warrant the use of general anesthesia in a perfectly controlled environment.
This option is only considered in specific situations, after a thorough assessment of your health, your needs, and the possible alternatives. It is particularly suitable for patients suffering from severe anxiety, those requiring complex or multiple treatments, or certain people with disabilities.

When is general anesthesia considered?
General anesthesia may be indicated in the following cases:
- Intense fear or phobia of the dentist, making treatment impossible otherwise;
- Complex or lengthy surgical procedures;
- The need to perform several treatments in a single session;
- A very pronounced gag reflex;
- Patients with special needs (neurological disorders, developmental delays, etc.).
It allows the patient to be completely asleep during the procedure, in a state of suspended consciousness, without pain or memory of the treatment.
Strict medical supervision
General anesthesia can only be performed in an appropriate medical setting and in the presence of a qualified anesthesia professional. At our clinic, this approach is implemented in collaboration with a partner organization that is authorized to provide this type of care in complete safety.
Before any procedure under general anesthesia, a specific protocol is followed:
- Preoperative consultation with the dentist.
- Comprehensive medical assessment by an anesthesiologist.
- Informed consent from the patient (or their legal representatives).
- Planning of the procedure in a suitable environment.
- Attentive and personalized post-procedure follow-up.
This process ensures maximum safety and optimal recovery.
A well-supervised alternative

It is important to note that general anesthesia remains an exceptional option. In most cases, lighter solutions—such as local anesthesia, relaxation techniques, or conscious sedation—allow treatment to be carried out in good conditions, while respecting your comfort level.
Our team takes the time to assess your needs and guide you toward the most appropriate approach, with complete transparency.
